Candles - Set The Scene
A bath is not a bath without a candle or two propping on the side omitting gorgeous scents into the air! I enjoy having two on the go with complimenting scents - at the moment I am using Yankee Candle Sandalwood Vanilla and Autumn Nights. For more on my Top 5 Candles for Autumn and Winter see here.
Make it LUSH!
The childish quality in me still gets thrilled by the transformation a Bath Bomb makes to a plain old bath. I find the quintessential of pamper night is soaking into a bubble laden, multicoloured, bath utopia! As well as bath bombs, bath melts make your skin feel like satin! My favourites by LUSH at the moment that I'm enjoying are Satsuma (It looks like a satsuma, it smells like a satsuma, it definitely doesn't taste like a satsuma), Butterball (who could resist?) and Razzle Dazzle Bath Oil (I don't know about you, but I want as much Razzle dazzle in my life as possible!)
Soothing Salts
Bath Salts are not just an aesthetic addition to make your bath look and smell pretty, they also do you skin, body and even your mood the world of good! They are known to relieve pain and muscle cramps, heal headaches, inflammation and rashes as well as leaving your skin soft and supple! Simply sprinkle the salts into warm water until they dissolve and work wonders! I would only use the bath salts once a week and there are plenty of different ones on the market to suit your preferences. Here are a few examples:
- Westlab Pure Mineral Bathing Epsom Salt - Boots £2.49
- Joules Bath Salts - Boots £8.00 (Comes with a handy scoop!)
- Radox Herbal Bath Salts - Boots £1.05
Make sure to adjust the temperature to your liking. I like quite a warm-side-of-hot bath to sink into and relax, as I know it's not going to go stone cold in a matter of minutes. If you like yours as hot as the sun, so you step out red from the neck down, then you do you and enjoy! Plus the beauty of it is, the taps are in reaching distance to adapt at any time!
Make Yourself Comfy!
For a pamper bath (or if you have the luxury of long baths everyday) I like to lay back with a comfy bath pillow supporting my neck. You can get inflatable ones, fluffy ones or could even use a rolled up towel. I like to use the John Lewis Coastal Beach Huts Bath Pillow, because it's comfy and makes me think of the seaside with its cute design! Next I like to read a chapter or two of my current book, while I'm soaking into the bubbles and letting it give my skin the moisture and goodness it needs. Currently I am re-reading The Street Cat Named Bob before I see the film next month, as I love their story and am convinced Bob is a relative of my own feline friend as they look so alike! Lastly while I'm reading and relaxing, I enjoy having my favourite drink on the side, whether that's a hot chocolate or something stronger!
Pamper Your Skin
At this point, before the water goes cold and before I end up looking like a prune, I like to use a body scrub to exfoliate. At the moment I'm using am absolutely amazing one called Grounded Body Scrub Chocolate Orange Scent Coffee Scrub! Bit of a mouthful of a name, and I would certainly like a mouthful of this as it smells divine of all the thing I crave - coffee, chocolate + orange! It not only smells like a fabulous feast, the caffeine aids your skin in amazing ways! (For more on coffee scrubs and my own Pumpkin Spice Latte Body Scrub click here.) I then follow that with my ultimate treat body lotion from my all time favourite perfume - Gucci Guilty. Another thing I like to include, as I always forget to do them, is a face mask! My favourite right now as we are coming into colder weather is Nip+Fab Kale Dry Skin Fix Clay Mask.
Like a Spa At Home!
Finally step out from your beautiful bath and dry off wth a lovely fluffy warm towel and pop on an equally fluffy and comfortable dressing gown! You will honestly feel so pampered that it will be like you've been to you're very own spa situated in your bathroom! Plus the bathroom will smell nice too!
I hope you enjoyed my top tips for a luxury pampering bath on an Autumn Night! I don't know about you but I think I'm gonna go and run one now!
Thanks for reading!
